Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP advises global corporations on high profile public and private M&A, handling contested and hostile bids, post-merger restructurings, antitrust compliance and regulatory approval. The firm had a key role on the much-publicised sale of Sky, acting for Comcast on its competitive £30.6bn takeover. The firm's team was led by corporate partners Julian Long and the 'amazing' Alison Smith. In a similar vein, Smith led the team that advised US manufacturing client Berry Global on its £3.4bn offer for RPC Group, which surpassed the competitive offer from Apollo. Managing partner of the London office, Claire Wills is primarily instructed by major financial institutions, and has been a key name for headline transactions in the retail and consumer sectors.
