Luc Santarelli is a French and European patent, trademark and design attorney.
He assists clients in crafting IP strategies and specializes in litigation relating to patent infringement, know-how misappropriation and patent ownership, as well as in oppositions before the European Patent Office. His clientele includes high-tech start-ups and large corporations across a wide range of fields, including aeronautics, telecommunications, electronics, software, semi-conductors, nanotechnology and the mechanical industry.
After a stint as a telecommunications engineer, Luc joined Cabinet Bonnet-Thirion in 1980 and Rinuy Santarelli in 1985, where he specialized in patent infringement litigation.
Luc lectures on the European patent system and on patent litigation (including on the EPI CEIPI European patent litigation course). He is a member of the Association of European Patent Practitioners (APEB), the International Association of the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and the International Federation of IP Attorneys (FICPI).

Formation académique
Luc Santarelli has a dual educational background: an engineering degree from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in 1978 in a wide range of engineering technologies, with specialization in telecommunications, and a Masters in Law from the University of Paris II in 1988. He also holds an advanced degree in patent litigation in Europe (2004) from Strasbourg University in association with the European Patent Institute Centre for International Intellectual Property (EPI CEIPI).
