VILGERTS's competition and antitrust team acts for a number of market leaders, in both contentious and non-contentious matters, across a variety of different industry sectors, including IT and telecoms, energy, construction, retail, transport, finance, and insurance. Notably, the team was engaged in handling an EU merger filing before the European Commission and complex state aid cases in the Latvian energy market, as well as regularly being engaged to handle a range of EU-law-related queries. The team is led by co-heads Jūlija Jerņeva and Debora Garanča, who are a ‘top choice for competition matters,’ with key support provided by the ’very competent’ Charles Clarke.
