Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP joins the ranking having made notable investments in its UK securitisation group. The practice is led from New York by head of global financial services Anastasia Peterson, who is heavily involved in the development of the London team, which hired David Thomas from Slaughter and May in late 2024. Peterson, who is ‘a trusted advisor and someone who can get things done’, acted for Apollo in the financing for its $8bn acquisition of assets of Credit Suisse’s Securitised Products Group, as part of the bank’s restructuring, and its ongoing financings as part of the Apollo Global Management ecosystem. Thomas recently advised NewDay Cards on its joint venture with Lloyds Bank.
