Taylor Wessing

The fintech regulatory practice at Taylor Wessing advises a mix of major payment firms, banks, and platforms on payments transactions, cryptocurrency, consumer credit, and financial infrastructure regulation. The team frequently handles novel, cross-border fintech issues, counselling firms and financial institutions, such as buy-now-pay-later providers, on consumer credit issues and UK/EU regulatory compliance. The team is led by FSR partner Martin Dowdall, who brings deep expertise advising UK and EU clients on payment services and systems, cryptoasset regulation, and AML legislation, while Clare Reynolds leads on ecommerce and technology outsourcing and cloud regulation. Charlotte Witherington departed the team in November 2025.
