The environmental practice at
Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez, S.C., lauded by one client as the 'best in the business', is equipped to deliver advice on 'high-pressure transactions' and advisory environmental mandates alike. Core areas of expertise include applications for environmental permits, environmental impact authorisations, air quality and emissions matters, and environmental zoning and ecological ordinance programmes. Following the January 2025 integration of litigation-focused boutique Martínez, Algaba, de Haro y Curiel, the practice group's dispute resolution capabilities were notably strengthened. A recent mandate of note saw the group advise Mill Point Capital on the acquisition of the commercial refrigeration and food service equipment businesses of Fomento Económico Mexicano. The practice is directed by
Carlos de Icaza, who specialises in real estate-related transactions and advising clients on compliance with federal, state and municipal environmental regulations. Counsel Alejandro Castelló, who draws on experience advising pension funds and private equity funds on real estate investments and assisting corporations with environmental advisory matters. However, senior associate Mariana Westendarp and associate Jessica Villaverde left the firm in January 2025 and June 2024 respectively.
