July 2024 saw the former Martinot Abogados merge into Santiváñez Abogados, which is now composed of some 50 lawyers (including ten partners) with offices in both Lima and Piura. The bankruptcy and restructuring department advises creditors and debtors alike and undertakes high-value work, which includes out-of-court restructuring and the sale and purchase of assets of distressed companies. Engaged by clients from the insurance, real estate and mining sectors, the team demonstrates strong knowledge of bankruptcy regulation. Luis Fernando Martinot, who is experienced in corporate workouts and turnarounds, leads the team alongside Yanira Becerra Stock, who frequently handles the acquisition of distressed assets. At associate level, Katia Matallana concentrates on asset restructuring, liquidations and dissolutions.
