Goodwin has significantly expanded its financial restructuring team in recent times, building on its considerable experience in out-of-court restructurings and formal bankruptcies. The firm has worked on a series of Chapter 11 cases and other out-of-court restructurings for a number of debtors, creditors and other stakeholders. It has a significant presence in insolvency-related litigation, including fraudulent transfer litigation, lender liability claims and mass tort bankruptcy cases. Michael Goldstein is chair of the financial restructuring group and has more than 35 years’ experience in the field. Howard Steel is another experienced figure with an impressive background in representing creditors’ committees, lenders and indenture trustees, among others. Robert Lemons is another key partner, having joined the firm in 2023. All named individuals are based in New York.
