Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP‘s restructuring department has a background in representing debtors, strategic investors and ad hoc groups in court and out-of-court matters. It has also expanded its creditors’ rights practice. The firm advises a range of companies, along with independent boards of directors and special committees. On the creditor side, it acts for large tort claimant committees, ad hoc bondholder and lender committees and now a growing number of official committees of unsecured creditors; it has strong links to private funds, direct lenders and institutional creditors, among others. The firm is widely recognised for its private equity and private equity-backed company experience, including in large-scale restructurings and distressed asset transactions. It is also rated for its bankruptcy and restructuring litigation expertise. Matthew Feldman is chair of the firm and US chair of the restructuring department with Brett Miller and Debra Sinclair as co-chairs of the team and leading many of the group’s top mandates.
