Me Laure BOUTRON-MARMION has developed particular expertise in the criminal defense of minors, which has also led her to intervene in criminal cases that have received French and international media coverage due to the social and legal issues they raise
For example, she is the lawyer of the association Face à l'inceste, defending its interests as a civil party in a large-scale criminal trial scheduled for 2025, involving almost 300 victims of a offender doctor known as "Le Scouarnec".
She is also defending the family of Dinah Gontier, a schoolgirl who committed suicide as a result of school bullying in September 2021, and who shook French society to such an extent as to give rise to a new law in March 2022 incorporating the criminal offence of school bullying into the French Penal Code.
Involved for many years in the defense of minors, she is the first lawyer to file a complaint against the TikTok company in France for provoking the suicide of a 15-year-old girl in September 2023.
In 2024, she founded the Algos Victima collective, with the aim of bringing together as many families and victims of social networking as possible to take all appropriate legal action to ensure that social media companies are held responsible for the harm suffered by their children.
Since then, she has filed two class-action lawsuit against Tiktok before the French Judicial Court, with a view to recognizing the involvement of this social media company in the death and psychological destruction of several children.
Maître Laure Boutron-Marmion's actions are followed by the French and international media and receive extensive cross-border press and audiovisual coverage.
Laure Boutron-Marmion is a member of the Minors' Section of the Paris Bar and of the Circle of Lawyers of the non-governmental organization Respect Zone, which works to prevent and raise awareness of cyber-violence in the workplace.
She is also a member of the Strategic Orientation Council of the Institute for Fundamental Digital Rights (IDFRights), which assists the European Parliament and the European Commission in drafting decisions in favor of controlled governance of digital data.
